- Abstract
- The aim of this study was to determine the degree of correlation between the perceived craniosacral motion recorded by pairs of subjects simultaneously palpating single individuals.Mechanical knee switches, electronics and computer equipment were developed in order to record and compare the subjective findings of the subjects. Eight palpation sessions were performed over three months, involving sixteen members of the BSO faculty who regularly used craniosacral palpation. Statistical methods for the analysis of the data were researched and found to be highly complex and beyond the scope of the study. Visual plots of the data for pairs of subjects were made and examined for relationships between the two.No agreement between subjects was evident in any of sessions. These results concur with the few published similar studies that there have been. The findings raise questions about the veracity of the model generally proposed in the literature for craniosacral motion.
