Abstract
Introduction: The pilot study is based in how the therapeutic work on themediastinum of the patient changes the physiology and thoracicbiomechanics, generating changes in their pulmonary function to increasetheir sense of well-being. Method: The parameters' values are basic lungfunction, such as simple and forced spirometry, the thoracic perimeter (PT)and a numerical visual sensation scale of respiratory restriction (SRR). Thetherapeutic procedure is based on the approach on the anterior chest fascialtissues, the diafragm and the mediastinum Results: significantsiimprovements on lung function as VC (4,04 vs 4,09 vs 4,26 L) (p<0,05),FVC (4,06 vs 4,07 vs 4,14 L) (p=0,07) i VT (0,82 vs 0,90 vs 0,94 L) (p=0,08)basal vs rest vs intervention. Significant improvement in PT axilar (4,30 vs5,45) (p<0,05), xiphoid (6,50 vs 7,45) (p<0,05) and SRR (7,30 vs 9,00)(p<0,05). Conclusion: Efficacy of ostepathic techniques are demostrated withthis assessment. It’s necessary more aleatoritzed studies.
