The CV4 technique is used in the cranial osteopathy field for years because it has influence on the level of fluid in the body and the vital nerve centers located in the 4th ventricle filled with cerebrospinal fluid.
Sutherland, father of cranial osteopathy, already spoke of the relationship between the cranium and sacrum, and the influence and the movement of one affecting the other and vice versa using reciprocal tension membranes.
The main objective of this research is to see the effectiveness of the CV4 technique applied to the cranium and sacrum and working with the hypothesis that the two are related.
A pilot study performed with 10 patients with essential hypertension and pharmacologically medicated. Randomly, 5 of them were made in the cranium technique and another 5 in the sacrum. Taken several measures of variables, blood pressure and heart rate, at different times: in base state, after 10 minutes, just after the technique corresponding and at 5 and 15 minutes of completing the technique. As for the techniques, similar results are obtained with both showing little variation of the variables and requiring additional research because the sample is small - Abstract

La tècnica CV4 és una de les utilitzades en l’osteopatia cranial des de fa anys perquè té influència a nivell dels fluids de l’organisme i dels centres nerviosos vitals localitzats en el 4t ventricle ple de líquid cefaloraquidi.
Sutherland, pare de l’osteopatia cranial, ja parlava de la relació que hi ha entre crani i sacre i, com la influència i el moviment d’un, repercuteix en l’altre i viceversa mitjançant les membranes de tensió recíproca.
L’objectiu principal del present treball de recerca és veure l’eficàcia de la tècnica CV4 aplicada al crani versus (vs) el sacre i treballar amb la hipòtesi que ambdós estan relacionats.
Es realitza un estudi pilot amb 10 pacients amb hipertensió arterial essencial i medicats farmacològicament. Aleatòriament, a 5 d’ells se’ls realitza la tècnica al crani i als altres 5, al sacre. Es prenen vàries mesures de les variables, pressió arterial i freqüència cardíaca, en diferents moments: en estat basal, passats 10 minuts, just acabada la tècnica corresponent, als 5 i als 15 minuts de finalitzada la tècnica. Quant a les tècniques, amb les dues s’obtenen resultats similars mostrant poca variació de les variables i requerint de recerca addicional pel fet que la mostra és petita. - presented at
