- Abstract
- INTRODUCTION. The objective of this project is to discover whether the developmentof scoliosis could have a cranial cause. If so, it is necessary to asset the effectiveness oftreatment through cranial osteopathy.METHODOLOGY. The research is carried trough databases such as “PubMed”, “BiomedCentral”, “Dr.Ostmed” and “Osteopathic Research Web”. Initially the research mightbe difficult because of the scarcity of resources from the osteopathic perspective.RESULTS. Scoliosis is a 3D deformity with a multifactorial aetiology. Scoliosis in childrenis frequently associated with plagiocephaly. At same time, head moulding is a riskfactor for developing plagiocephaly. The early osteopathy treatment improvesplagiocephaly and the baby positional preference. Therefore, osteopathy is apreventive factor for the development of scoliosis.DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS. In spite of the positive results shown, it isrecommended to continue the study and extend the time of experimentalinvestigations. In this way, it would be possible to discover whether the incidence ofscoliosis during life decreases in infants treated with preventive and early osteopathy.

Discussió i conclusions
- presented at
