Introduction: Tendinosis is the involvement of the tendon area of the junction of 4 muscles. This pathology has a great impact on society and causes functional impotence, social and economic impact.The aim of this study was to contrast the effect of muscle energy techniques on pathologies of rotator cuff tendonitis, compared to high-speed techniques.
Method: A pilot study was carried out at the Healthsystem - Espais de Salut center in Barcelona in which 20 adult subjects who suffered tendinosis or rotator cuff tendonitis were involved. The variables analyzed were pain by VAS and range of motion by goniometer in external and internal rotation of the affected glenohumeral joint.
Results: There were no significant differences in any of the variables.
In the EVA variable, a significance of (p <0.125) was obtained, whereas in the variable the ROM in external rotation the significance obtained was of (p
<0.053) and, finally, in the ROM variable in internal rotation the significance was of (p <0.314).
Conclusions: The null hypothesis could not be rejected, although there were positive effects of both techniques, both in ROM and pain. - Abstract

Introducción: La tendinosis es la afectación de la zona tendinosa de la unión de 4 músculos. Esta patología tiene gran incidencia en la sociedad y provoca, impotencia funcional, impacto social y económico.El objetivo de este estudio fue contrastar el efecto de las técnicas de energía muscular en patologías de tendinitis del manguito rotador, en comparación con las técnicas de alta velocidad.
Método: Se realizó un estudio piloto, en el centro Healthsystem - Espais de Salut en Barcelona en el cual se reclutó a 20 sujetos adultos diagnosticados de tendinosis o tendinitis del manguito rotador. Las variables analizadas fueron: dolor mediante EVA y rango de movimiento mediante goniómetro en rotación externa e interna de la articulación glenohumeral afectada.
Resultados: No se obtuvo diferencias significativas en ninguna de las variables. En la variable EVA, se obtuvo una significación del (p < 0,125), mientras que en la variable ROM en rotación externa se obtuvo una significación de (p < 0,053) y, finalmente, en la variable ROM en rotación interna se obtuvo una significación de (p < 0,314). - presented at
