Hintergrund: Im Gegensatz zu zahlreichen Reliabilitätsstudien mit Autoren-Interpretationen und literaturgestützten Annahmen zur Erklärung statistischer (Nicht-)Übereinstimmung gibt diese Studie Einblick in die Individualität der Osteopathen bei Untersuchung + Dokumentation.
Ziel: Überprüfung der Interrater-Reliabilität von sechs Osteopathen bei Untersuchung des abdominalen Diaphragmas ohne Vorgabe der Testdurchführung. Erklärung von (Nicht-)Übereinstimmungen im geschlossenen Fragebogen mittels Darstellung angewandter Tests sowie Befunddokumentation.
Methode: Bei dieser experimentellen Interrater-Reliabilitätsstudie wird die Vergleichbarkeit der Befundergebnisse überprüft und der individuelle Zugang der Osteopathen zur Untersuchung + Dokumentation der Ergebnisse mittels Videostandbildern und offener Befunddokumentation dargestellt. Die Osteopathen sind bezüglich bisheriger Testergebnisse von Kollegen, der Probanden-Gesundheit und dem Sprechverbot mit Kollegen verblindet.

Ergebnisse: Jene des geschlossenen Fragebogens erreichen Kappa-Werte von ???????????bis ??= 0,65 und nach Fleiss von ???????????bis ??= 0,07. Mittels z-Tests wurden zusätzlich mit ?=0,05 signifikante Differenzen der ?-Indices von ?=0 ermittelt. Die Resultate sind somit mit Ergebnissen bereits vorliegender Reliabilitätsstudien im viszeralen Bereich vergleichbar.
Diskussion: Nach Auswertung offener Befundbögen und Videoanalyse wurde eine große Bandbreite an Individualität in Dokumentation + Untersuchung festgestellt. Was die Arbeit einzigartig, die Vergleichbarkeit der drei Auswertungsparameter aber schwierig macht.

Background: In contrast to numerous reliability studies based on interpretations by the respective authors and assumptions derived from the literature to explain statistical (non-) correlation, this study provides insight into osteopaths’ individuality with regard to testing and documentation.

Objectives: This study aims at testing interrater reliability of six osteopaths regarding the testing of the abdominal diaphragm without prior specification of the type of test implementation. By describing the different tests applied as well as analyzing documentation, a possible explanation for (non-)correlation of results provided in the questionnaire is given.

Methodology: In this experimental interrater reliability study the comparability of findings was tested and osteopaths’ individual approaches to testing the abdominal diaphragm and documenting their findings was analyzed using video documentation and osteopaths’ documentation of test results. Osteopaths are “blinded” regarding colleagues’ test results, probands’ health and talking restrictions. Probands’ test results are blinded.

Results:
The results of the questionnaire with kappa-indices ranging from ???????????to???= 0,65, and Fleiss kappa ranging from ???????????to???= 0,07 support previous reliability studies’ findings in the visceral area. Z-tests (?=0,05) determined significant differences of ?-indices of ????.

Discussion:
Analysis of osteopaths’ documentation and video footage showed a broad range of individuality in documentation and testing, rendering this study unique while at the same time making the comparability of the criteria for analysis more difficult.
