Introduction: The irradiated pain in the right shoulder in adult patients with hepatocarcinoma is an osteopathic connection which allows to establish a complete differential diagnosis. In order to provide relevant data and confirm this relationship, it has been established a questionnaire to find out if the patients have this type of pain.Method: The sample size of the study was of 83 patients, already diagnosed of hepatocarcinoma. The study consisted in selecting the sample through a doctor. Patients with hepatocarcinoma were given a date to evaluate their pain through the questionnaire.
Results: from the sample of 83 patients, only 27 patients (27.7%) participated in the study, the rest (68.7%) were rejected and 3 of them (3.6%) were excluded because they did not meet the requirements. Of these 27 patients, only 11 showed diffuse pain in the right shoulder. Therefore, there is little evidence of this relationship.
Conclusion: This osteopathic connection is not scientifically relevant, especially in medical diagnosis. This proves that more studies should be performed to deepen into the subject and to extract more information that would help in the diagnosis and, therefore, the evolution of the patient. - Abstract

Introducció: El dolor irradiat en l’espatlla dreta en pacients adults amb hepatocarcinoma és una connexió osteopàtica definida que permet establir un diagnòstic diferencial complet. Per tal d’aportar dades rellevants i confirmar aquesta relació s’ha establert un qüestionari per saber si els pacients presenten aquest tipus de dolor.
Mètode: La mida de la mostra d'estudi va ser de 83 pacients, ja diagnosticats d’hepatocarcinoma. L’estudi consistia a seleccionar la mostra a través d'un metge de capçalera, es citaven els pacients amb hepatocarcinoma i es feia el qüestionari del dolor.
Resultats: De la mostra de 83 pacients, només hi van participar 27 pacients (27,7%), la resta (68,7%) ho van refusar i 3 (3,6%) van ser exclosos perquè no complien requisits.
D’aquests, només 11 presentaven dolor difús a l’espatlla dreta. Per tant, hi ha poca evidència d’aquesta relació.
Conclusió: Aquesta connexió osteopàtica és poc rellevant científicament, especialment en el diagnòstic mèdic. Això fa que es consideri que s'haurien de fer més estudis per aprofundir en la matèria i extreure informació que ajudés en el diagnòstic i, per tant, en l’evolució del pacient. - presented at
