Abstract
Abstract
Introduction: through a quasi-experimental study was intended to compare between cranium-sacrum (CST) and osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) in patients with nonspecific chronic low back pain (NCLBP). The results of the review indicated that the chosen techniques decrease the symptoms.
Method: 10 patients with NCLBP (age average 34.8) without defined pathologies evaluated using EVA and OWESTRY scales, were done 2 treatments and 3 valuations 3 weeks between them.
Results: It had shown improvements with EVA and OWESTRY assessment. CST and OMT achieve progresses in the treatment of NCLBP, being slightly more significant with OMT. In both types of treatment there hadn’t been a complete resurgence of pain or functional disability in AVD.
Conclusions: CST and the OMT treatment are indicated in the decrease of pain, but in terms of the bio-psycho-social sensation valued by the OWESTRY scale, we couldn’t obtain the expected results.
