Osteopathen und Osteopathinnen werden in deren Praxen immer mehr mit verhaltensauffälligen
Kindern konfrontiert.
Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, im Rahmen einer klinischen Studie, den Einfluss osteopathischer
Behandlungen im Bereich visueller und auditiver Teilleistungsschwäche zu untersuchen. Der
Arbeitsansatz ist, die Resultate von vier Tests des gleichen Probanden vor, während und nach
der Studie zu vergleichen, um so dessen „Leistungsentwicklung“ nachzuweisen.

Durch eine genaue Anamnese in Form eines Gespräches soll ev. erkennen lassen, was nötig ist,
um ein positives Resultat erwarten zu können.

Methode: Als Untersuchungsinstrument diente der Sindelartest, bei dem die Anzahl der Fehler
aussagekräftig ist. Sieben Kinder mit diagnostizierter Teilleistungsschwäche im visuellen wie
auditiven Konzentrations- und Aufmerksamkeitsbereich wurden vier Testungen und vier
Behandlungen unterzogen.

Die Kinder sind physisch und psychisch gesund, es besteht keine Hyperaktivität und sie wurden
noch nie osteopathisch behandelt.
Die Anamnese fand in Form eines Gespräches statt. Die zu dieser Zeit bestehenden
individuellen Lebensumstände wurden dokumentiert.

Ergebnisse: Vergleicht man die 1.Testung mit der 4., dann kommt es im Durchschnitt visuell in
drei Fällen zur Erhöhung, in sechs zur Reduktion und in neun zur gleichen Fehleranzahl. Auditiv
erhöht sich die Fehleranzahl in zwei, vermindert sich in fünf und bleibt in elf Fällen gleich.

Diskussion: Aufmerksamkeitsschwäche ist ein sehr komplexes Thema. Um sie fassbar zu
machen, wenn das überhaupt möglich ist, bedarf es einer umfassenden Diagnostik mit
interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit. Je nach Befundergebnis sollte anschließend die Therapie
erfolgen und ein nahtloses Wechseln der Therapie möglich gemacht werden. Osteopathie wirkt
sich positiv auf den visuellen und auditiven Bereich aus (laut Eltern auch in anderen Bereichen)
und sollte ein Teil des Ganzen sein.

Osteopaths are dealing more and more with children who are displaying behavioural problems.

Aim

Aim of this work is to examine the influence of osteopathic treatments on children with a partial
performance weakness in the auditory and visual area within a clinical study. The approach is to
compare the results of four tests of the same proband before, during and after the study to verify
their performance development and to determine the ideal time for the use of osteopathy
through a precise anamnesis.

Method

The Sindelar-Test, whereby the amount of mistakes is crucial, was used as instrument of the
study. The study was conducted with seven children who were diagnosed with a clinical-
psychological partial performance weakness in the area of auditory and visual concentration and
attentiveness. Each of these children were tested and treated four times.

The children were found to be medically healthy, there was no hyperactivity present and they
had never been osteopathically treated before.
The anamnesis was done through conversation. The individual life circumstances at that time
were documented.

Results

Comparing the first and the fourth testing, visually there were three cases showing an increase,
six cases a reduction and nine cases a steady amount of mistakes. The mistakes in the auditory
area were increased in two cases, reduced in five and stable in eleven cases.

Discussion

Attention deficit is a very complex topic. To make it identifiable, if that is even possible, it needs a
comprehensive diagnosis with interdisciplinary collaboration. Depending on the findings, therapy
should subsequently take place and a smooth change of therapy should be ensured. Osteopathy
has a positive effect on the visual and auditory area (according to parents also in other areas)
and should be part of the whole.
