Hintergrund: Bei vielen
Schlaganfallpatienten/Schlaganfallpatientinnen kommt es zu einer erhöhten
Sturzgefahr, die auf eine Beeinträchtigung der posturalen Kontrolle
zurückzuführen ist (Buvarp et al., 2022). Gegenwärtig konzentriert
sich die funktionelle Rehabilitation hauptsächlich auf aktives
Bewegungstraining, dennoch wird die Rolle des sensorischen Inputs übersehen (Chen et al., 2018). Hosseini et al. (2019) kamen zu dem Schluss, dass
der Einsatz passiver Mobilisation bei
Schlaganfallpatienten/Schlaganfallpatientinnen nicht nur lokale Komplikationen
verhindert, sondern auch die Motorik nach einem Schlaganfall verbessert. Das
Ziel dieser Studie war es, den Effekt einer Allgemeinen Osteopathischen
Behandlung auf die posturale Kontrolle bei
Schlaganfallpatienten/Schlaganfallpatientinnen zu untersuchen.

Methode: Diese randomisierte kontrollierte Studie
(n=28) untersucht die Verbesserung der posturalen Kontrolle bei Schlaganfallpatienten/Schlaganfallpatieninnen
durch eine Allgemeine Osteopathische Behandlung im Vergleich zu Physiotherapie.
Die posturale Kontrolle wurde mittels Pro Balance
Master® überprüft.

Ergebnisse: Für die Gesamtgruppe zeigt sich eine
signifikante Verbesserung der posturalen Kontrolle (p=0,002) Der Interaktionseffekt Zeit * Bedingung zeigt keine
signifikant unterschiedliche Entwicklung in der posturalen Kontrolle bei Schlaganfallpatienten/Schlaganfallpatientinnen
nach einer Allgemeinen Osteopathischen Behandlung im
Vergleich zu Physiotherapie (p=0,117). Bei der Gruppe Allgemeine Osteopathische
Behandlung konnte mit einer Differenz von 8,07 Punkten eine größere Steigerung
als in der Gruppe Physiotherapie mit einer Differenz von 2,9 Punkten ermittelt
werden.

Schlussfolgerung: Befunde aus der Literatur und der
vorliegenden Studie zeigen keine eindeutigen Ergebnisse zugunsten einer Allgemeinen
Osteopathischen Behandlung, randomisierte Studien mit einer höheren Teilnehmerzahl/Teilnehmerinnenanzahl
sollten durchgeführt werden.

Author: Markus BrunnerBackground: Many stroke patients have an increased risk of
falling, which is due to an impairment of postural control (Buvarp et al., 2022). Currently, functional rehabilitation mainly
focuses on active movement training, yet the role of sensory input is
overlooked (Chen et al., 2018). Hosseini et al. (2019) concluded that the use of passive
mobilization in stroke patients not only prevents local complications but also
improves motor function after a stroke. The aim of this study was to investigate
the effect of general osteopathic treatment on postural control in stroke
patients.

Method: This randomized controlled study (n=28) examines the improvement of
postural control in stroke patients through general osteopathic treatment
compared to physiotherapy. Postural control was examined by using Pro Balance
Master® (Buvarp
et al., 2022).

Results: The results of the study show,  that there is a significant improvement in
postural control for the entire group (p=0.002). The interaction effect time *
condition does not show a significantly different development in postural
control in stroke patients after general osteopathic treatment compared to
physiotherapy (p=0.117). However, a greater increase in the general
osteopathic treatment group with a difference of 8.07 points compared to the
physiotherapy group with a difference of 2.9 points was observed.

Conclusion: Findings from the literature and the present
study do not show clear results in favor of one treatment method (the AOB);
randomized studies with a higher number of participants should be carried out.
