- This investigation looks at the influence of bra fit has on females suffering back pain. It explores not only the effect on frequency and duration of back pain but also the influence of bra fit on location of back pain and locations of pain around the bra itself. The distinction between bra fit and size must be made as this investigation is primarily concerned with fit but conclusions are also drawn about the sizes worn by subjects. There were three hypotheses Bad fitting bras will cause increased duration and or frequency of back pain. 2 Ill fitted areas of the bra will cause local pain.3. The fit of the bra will have an effect on the location of back pain. Null hypotheses:1 Bad fitting bras will not cause increased duration or frequency of back pain. 2 III fitting areas of the bra will not cause local pain. 3 The fit of the bra will not have an effect on the location of back pain.This study consisted of 63 female subjects using a survey and tape measure. They were chosen at random from Osteopathic students, bar workers and a local sports team KRG. These were then split into four groups as a basis for comparison these were good fit, bad fit, pain and pain free. Out of the 63 subjects 30 were identified as wearing a well fitting bra, 33 were not. The pain and pain free groups contained 34 and 29 subjects respectively. With statistical analysis it was revealed that badly fitting bras did significantly effect the pain duration with a P value <5% but not the frequency of pain P value >10% however the raw data did show an increase in frequency in the bad fit group. So the null hypotheses a bad fitting bra will not cause increased frequency and or duration of back pain could not be rejected. P values of
