- Abstract
- The verification of the relationship existence between the Bacilar Angle and the mandibular retroprognathism following the escheme of the cranial llexoextensión is the objective of this work. Other variables have also been measured and interrelations have been looked for among them, in order to demonstrate the existence of structure patterns based on the physiologic mechanisms of the craniosacral movement.It has been realiced with cephalornetric measurements from lateral teleradiographs over a population of 152 people divided in three age ranges: bigger than 18 years (62 cases), between 13 and 17 years (40 cases). and between 9 and 12 years (51 cases). In the results a relationship is observed between the Basilar Angle and the mandibular retroprognathism but in contradiction with the physiology of craneal flexoextension and in consonance with other established morphologic patients. (here have been significant relationships among other variables that, although they don't contradict it, neither corroborate the preponderance of the craniosacral movement like structural factor.

La constatación de la existencia de relación entre el ángulo basilar y la retroprognacia mandibular siguiendo los esquemas de la flexo-extensión craneal es el objetivo de este trabajo. Además se han medido otras variables y se han buscado interrelaciones entre ellas, a fin de demostrar la existencia de patrones de estructura basados en los mecanismos fisiológicos del movimiento cráneo sacro.
Realizado sobre telerradiografías de perfil sobre las que se han tomado medidas cefalométricas de una población de 152 personas dividida en tres rangos de edad: Mayores de 18 años (62 casos), entre 13 y 17 años (40 casos) y entre 8 y 12 años (50 casos).
En los resultados se observa una relación entre el ángulo basilar y fa retroprognacia mandibular pero en contradicción con la fisiología de flexo-extensión craneal y en consonancia con otros patrones morfológicos establecidos. Se han encontrado significativas relaciones entre otras variables que, si bien no se contradicen, tampoco corroboran fa preponderancia del movimiento cráneo sacro como factor estructural. - presented at
