Objectives.
The purpose of our research is to objectively determine if the global hemodynamic maneuver produces changes in the blood pressure and in the heart rate on subjects that present 'essential arterial hypertension'.
Material and method.
For that purpose, we formed a focus group of 50 people, both sexes, of ages between 30 to 70 years. All of them had been diagnosed essential arterial hypertension and at the time of the study they were under anti-hypertensive drug treatment.
Our total sample was randomly divided in two groups: one 'study group', in which we would realized the global hemodynamic maneuver; and one 'control group', that would receive the placebo technique.
The parameters chosen as indicators to measure the impact of the maneuver were the following: systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and heart rate. All of these indicators were registered in both groups, before and after applying the global hemodynamic maneuver and the placebo technique.
A descriptive statistic analysis was made, and the results of rates were submmit to a Student's test t to compare the differences between the averages of the data under consideration.
Results.
The results of this statistic analysis only showed a significant decrease (p<0,05) on both systolic and diastolic pressure in the 'control group' and also in the heart rate on the 'study group'.
Conclusions.
That's why we can affirm that the global hemodynamic maneuver does not cause changes in the indicators under study, and that cannot cause any risk to patients presenting 'essential arterial hypertension'. - Abstract

Objetivos.
Nuestro estudio tiene como objetivo determinar de manera objetiva si la maniobra global hemodinámica produce cambios en la presión arterial y la frecuencia cardíaca en sujetos con hipertensión arterial esencial.
Material y método.
Para tal fin, hemos tomado una muestra de 50 individuos, de ambos sexos, con edades comprendidas entre 30 y 70 años. Todos ellos habían recibido diagnóstico médico de hipertensión arterial esencial y se encontraban al momento del estudio bajo tratamiento medicamentoso antihipertensivo.
El total de la muestra fue dividida, de manera aleatoria, en dos grupos: un grupo de estudio, donde realizaríamos la maniobra global hemodinámica; y un grupo control, donde realizaríamos una técnica placebo.
Los parámetros que hemos tomado como indicadores para valorar la respuesta a la maniobra fueron los siguientes: presión sistólica, presión diastólica y frecuencia cardíaca. Los mismos fueron registrados en ambos grupos de estudio, antes y después de aplicar la maniobra global hemodinámica o la técnica placebo.
Se realizó un análisis estadístico descriptivo y los datos obtenidos con las mediciones fueron sometidos al test t de Student con el objetivo de comparar las diferencias entre las medias de las variables consideradas.
Resultados.
Los resultados de este análisis estadístico solo revelaron una disminución significativa (p<0,05) de la presión sistólica y diastólica en el grupo control y de la frecuencia cardíaca en el grupo de estudio.
Conclusiones.
Por esto podemos afirmar que la maniobra global hemodinámica no provoca cambios en las variables estudiadas que pudieran significar un riesgo en su aplicación en los pacientes con diagnóstico de hipertensión arterial esencial. - presented at
