- Abstract
- An uncontrolled study of 40 soccer players, between 14 and 18 years of age, that aims to test whether osteopathic treatment based on Articular Global Normalization on osteopathic pivots has a positive effect on their posture. The players were divided in two groups based on a physical examination and the movement in the Pressure Center of each player as measured on a stabilometric platform. The study group received an osteopathic treatment once a month during four months, while the control group was not treated. After the treatment period the Centre of Pressure was recorded again to be compared with previous results and analyzed by fractal geometry. The results showed no statistically significant differences between the two groups. There is a tendency for decreased length and surface shown in the center of pressure, which indicates a reduction of player oscillation from the beginning to the end of treatment.

- Estudio cuasi-experimental con 40 jugadores de fútbol entre 14 y 18 años cuyo objetivo es comprobar si un tratamiento osteopático basado en una Normalización Articular Global sobre los pívots osteopáticos tiene un efecto positivo en su postura. Los jugadores se dividen en dos grupos en función de un examen corporal morfoestático, y se registra el movimiento descrito por el Centro de Presión de cada jugador en una plataforma de estabilometría. El grupo de estudio recibe un tratamiento osteopático al mes durante 4 meses, mientras que el grupo control no recibe tratamiento. Se vuelve a registrar el movimiento del Centro de Presión para comparar los resultados, y se analizan mediante geometría fractal. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que no existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los dos grupos estudiados. Existe una tendencia a la disminución en la longitud y superficie descrita por el centro de presión que indica una disminución de la oscilación del futbolista entre el inicio y el final del tratamiento.
